Nutrition

Nutrition is the science of food and the processes by which the organism ingests, digests, absorbs, transports, utilizes, and excretes food substances. Food is material consisting of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and other substances (minerals, vitamins, and enzymes) that are essential for an organism to sustain growth, repair, and furnish energy for all activity of the organism.

Proteins are essential for all living things (animal and vegetable) and must be included in the diet to sustain life. You can get everything you need from proteins, including energy, growth, repair, and homeostasis maintenance.

Carbohydrates, of which there are three types: fiber, starches, and sugars, are compounds that living things use for energy only. Lipids (fats) are the principle structural components of living cells. Lipids give energy, grow, and repair the organism.

Symptoms such as, stiff, sore joints, headaches, heartburn, gas pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, anxiety, irritability, restlessness, insomnia, and depression are all signs that there is an underlying dietary deficiency, and modification is required to regain health. We examine each case individually to determine what modifications are necessary to regain health.
